Wade Pfeiffer
President & CEO
As the President and CEO of Safeharbor Knowledge Solutions, Wade is responsible for overseeing the company’s overall strategic direction, planning and execution. Wade is a seasoned executive who combines over 20 years of technology, sales management, and operational experience with a passion for building great businesses, bringing innovative products to market and building high-performance teams. Wade has raised over $46 million in equity and debt for early stage, venture backed companies.
Previously, as SVP of nGenera Corp (now Moxie Software), Wade ran the Customer Engagement Division. There he was responsible for global operations and defining and executing the strategic vision for a business with more than 600 enterprise customers. Prior to nGenera, Wade served as COO and CFO at Talisma Corporation. His responsibilities in this role included managing global business operations. Wade has also served in several other executive-level positions including President of X10 USA, Inc., a consumer electronics retailer; COO and CFO at X10 Wireless Technology, an online marketing/consumer electronics business with an installed base of more than 3 million customers; and President of Orca Monitoring, Inc., a home security monitoring business. Wade’s earlier experience includes 13 years with Ernst & Young LLP where he served as a Senior Manager and has experience in multiple divisions, including audit, corporate finance, tax, entrepreneurial services and valuation.
Mark Schelbert
Managing Partner – Shackleton Equity Partners
Mr. Schelbert is a Managing Partner of Shackleton Equity Partners. Mr. Schelbert manages all key aspects of the business, including capital raising and the sourcing and execution of deals across a variety of industries. His experience includes nearly ten years of both operating and investment banking experience.
Prior to joining Shackleton Equity Partners, Mr. Schelbert was the Chief Executive Officer of a national out-of-home marketing company where he achieved annual sales growth of 240% and built a national media distribution network. Additionally, Mr. Schelbert was the Chief Executive Officer of an online medical equipment retailer and healthcare information portal. Prior to his operating experience, Mr. Schelbert was an Associate of Chanin Capital Partners. Mr. Schelbert assisted in 13 restructuring transactions in aggregate value of over $43 billion, and consummated three mergers and acquisitions transactions in aggregate value of over $2 billion. Mr. Schelbert specialized in the automotive, media, technology, and telecommunications industries. He combines his operating and finance expertise in capital raising, M&A, valuations, restructurings, and private equity. Past deals include: Adelphia Communications Corp., Consolidated Freight, Dictaphone, ITC DeltaCom, Inc., McLeod USA, Inc., Venture Holdings Company, LLC; Global Crossing, Ltd., Nextel International, Inc., RCN Corp. and Silicon Graphics, Inc.
Mr. Schelbert graduated magna cum laude with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Prior to attending business school, Mr. Schelbert received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in economics from the University California of Santa Barbara, where he also founded and organized the pilot program for the development of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Management (CEEM).
Nick Desai
Managing Partner – Shackleton Equity Partners
Mr. Desai has an extensive background in investment banking, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Desai’s transaction experience includes sell-side and buy-side M&A assignments and debt and equity capital raises for companies in a variety of industries, including food products, medical devices, healthcare, construction services, legal services, marketing services, aerospace/defense, sporting goods, telecom, e-commerce, internet advertising, manufacturing, recreational, transportation/logistics, and others. He has served clients at all stages of development, from growth companies pursuing transformational transactions to mature companies seeking exits. With a keen understanding of the “art and science” of investment banking, Mr. Desai has been able to enhance the value of his client’s companies through guidance far beyond that which traditional investment bankers provide, resulting in superior results and much higher probability of a successful outcome.
Prior to joining Shackleton, Mr. Desai was with FocalPoint Partners, an investment bank and financial advisory firm in Los Angeles. Before that, Mr. Desai was a Director at Cappello Capital, where he led the team responsible for one of the firm’s marquee deals of 2006. Prior to that, he was at KPMG Corporate Finance, where he led the top-producing West Coast team. Before these roles he held positions in strategic development and corporate development within operating companies. Armed with a Juris Doctorate and legal experience, Mr. Desai is uniquely positioned to understand and guide the legal, financial, and business issues integral to every transaction.
Mr. Desai is also very active in the financial services community. He was the Founder and former President of a professional networking group which has currently grown into a group with over 4,000 members in 25 cities internationally. He is also the Co-Founder and former President of the South Asian Bar Association and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
Mr. Desai earned his MBA and JD degrees from Loyola Marymount University and a B.A. from the University Of California at Irvine, where he was a Regents Scholar.
