In the five years we have offered the KM Promise and Reality Awards, we have received more than 1,000 submissions. Some of them described exquisite triumphs of technology and implementation; some of them sheer folly. Rather than share all this year's nominations (there were a number that would have been a waste of space), we have narrowed the field to finalists, which, in the case of the Promise category, are the submissions that are most likely to positively impact the marketplace. Because space prohibits us on these pages from getting into more detail, we have merely highlighted the Reality finalists. Please go to KMWorld.com to read the full nominations from the KM Reality finalists.--Hugh McKellar
Criteria for the KM Promise Award
Many companies promise that their technology is the best knowledge management solution. One of the greatest challenges for organizations purchasing these technologies is to determine which companies will deliver on their promise. This award is given to the organization that is delivering its promise to customers by providing innovative technology solutions for implementing and integrating knowledge management practices into business processes. The award-winning organization demonstrates how it goes beyond simply delivering technology to working with clients to ensure that both the technology and knowledge processes are embedded into the work processes. In other words, it helps organizations realize positive business results.
SafeHarbor Technology--SmartSupport A managed self-service solution that leverages the company's expertise in knowledge management and the client's expertise around specific business issues and drivers.
