SafeHarbor Technology Corporation Double Finalist in 3rd Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business
Washington State Company Recognized In Categories of Best Overall Company of the Year for Service Businesses and Best Executive Service Businesses
Seattle, WA January 17, 2007 SafeHarbor Technology Corporation, a provider of web self-service solutions, was named a Finalist today in two categories of the 3rd annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
With more than 600 entries submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, SafeHarbor Technology Corporation and SafeHarbor's chair and CEO, Annette Jacobs, received recognition in two areas: Best Overall Company of the Year for Service Businesses and Best Executive Service Businesses.
SafeHarbor partners with clients to improve their support information through web self-service. Typically, SafeHarbor provides a 1:1 return on investment in 6 months or less, and grows web self-service rates to as high as 80% within 2 years. Client success stories include a major airline that experienced a 67% cost reduction from a SafeHarbor solution. A major telecommunications provider increased self-service sessions by 52%, which translated into 500,000 more self-service sessions, fewer phone calls and a dramatic cost reduction. Such significant results have gained recognition. SafeHarbor has received eight achievement awards in 2006 alone.
In addition, Ms. Jacobs is one of the few female leaders of a venture-backed company in the United States. According to VentureOne, a research unit of Dow Jones and Co., less than 4% of CEO positions in venture-backed companies funded in 2006 are held by women and this figure has never exceeded the 7.5% seen in 2002.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as "the business world's own Oscars." (New York Post, April 27, 2005).
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," winners will be announced during a gala event in New York in March. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend.
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.
"Being named a Finalist in The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an important achievement," said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition."
"I am very proud to have SafeHarbor recognized with such a significant industry distinction. It is rewarding to receive public affirmation of our solution success with our clients," said SafeHarbor CEO Annette Jacobs. "It is also exciting to see the range of companies and women of distinction that are finalists this year. I am personally honored to be part of this group."
